My 2023 Bullet Journal Set-Up

Step 1 : Cover Page

I wanted this cover page to be as simple and warm as it could be. I'm still exploring how to be more creative in my journaling and didn't feel confident enough to really go all out. So I decided to just play around with some styles and some craft paper. I always like to add a little bit more texture and using the craft paper always helps to bring in the warmth. It's also a page that I hope will inspire the rest of the journal and the rest of the year even.

Step 2 : Yearly Spreads

Books to read

I pretty much decided to recreate this entire spread as is for 2023. Hopefully I'll be able to make it onto the next page this year. But the perfectionist in me is pretty proud I filled out the first page, right up until the final line. I think it's a great way to notice which months where more productive, reading wise. And which ones seemed a bit low on the reading content. I noticed that, everytime I read 3 to 4 books in one month, the next one is a guaranteed slow month. Hopefully I'll be able to break that habbit this year!

2023 Goals Page

It's the first time I've used this mindmap format in one of my journals, but I love how it turned out. I'll be coming back to this one a few times a year. Maybe even a few times a month. I've been setting goals for some time now, but I always seem to lose track of them. That's why I decided to add the 'how?' in the bottom right corner. It felt important to figure out a system to keep track of the goals and have and how I'm going to be implementing these in my daily life. I won't be focussing on all of these at once, but rather making small goals every month and then reviewing them to keep on top of it all.

Cleaning tracker

I started using this spread last year and it's been a real life saver! I don't work the usual 9-5, so a lot of the times it difficult to keep track of the household chores that still need to be done during the week or even on the weekends. I plan some of these tasks in in advance, but if I forget, this list is a good way to keep me on track. Because a clean house, means a clean and clear mind.

The newcomer : A Year in Pixels

This one is a shot in the dark. I have no idea if I'll be able to keep on top of it. But I've always been envious of those people who have a fully filled out spread of this! So, this year, I decided to try it out. I'm curious to see if I'll be able to notice any patterns with the new habit trackers I'm also putting in my monthly pages this year. Seeing how excersise, or the lack of, influences my mood. The same as with healthy eating, water intake, etc... It always feels more real when you have the actual information in front of you, instead of just guessing at it. It's also a way to check in with how I'm feeling and to not let one small setback during the day color the entirity of it (no pun intended 😅)

Which spread do you absolutely have to have at the start of the year?

Did you try something new? Let me know!

Hope to talk to you soon!
